 About the Virtua Foundation:

The mission of the Virtua Foundation is to impact the legal and social environments by focusing on 7 key areas of socio-economic impact: Education, Environment, Family, Health, People, Regional Crisis, and Social Finance.

The primary drive of the Virtua Foundation in 2015 is to empower women and children, both locally and abroad, by encouraging gender equality & int’l health, and take a united stand against child malnutrition and human trafficking. The Foundation is also raising funds to provide clean water for two sub-villages of nearly 3,000, complete the building of a much needed energy efficient orphanage, school, and community center, & assist with over 200 children’s education, health, & development in East Africa.  Additionally, the Foundation is providing development assistance, computers, and food to families and school children directly impacted by the tragedy in the Philippines.

The Virtua Foundation is building a sustainable 60-80 bed orphanage, classrooms, and community center in Moshii, Tanzania so that caretaker, Mama Faraji can provide for more than 78 orphans and street children while raising her family and impacting the local village as well. Because of the foundation’s efforts, Mama Faraji has been able to “[create] a home environment that feels far more like one big happy family than an institution.” Prior to the Virtua Foundation’s aide, she would take out small loans just to keep these children fed and schooled.

Amani Baby Cottage, in Jinja, Uganda, houses 35+ children up to the age of 5 and has a need to finish their current babies’ home and continue to assist in the development of their infants. The foundation has also identified 100 children to educationally support.

The Virtua Foundation’s team is dedicated to find and teach best practices regarding renewable energy sources and sustainable farming to aide the communities toward becoming self-sustaining. In partnership with the Thunderbird School of Global Management, an Executive MBA team will further work with the communities and develop a social enterprise, beyond subsistence farming. “We desire a life-long relationship with our beneficiaries, but ideally do not want to continue to provide financial assistance beyond our initial project period. It is our desire to take this model into other markets to help more children and those in need.”
